We needed to take a break from the winter and with everything going on, were finally able to squeeze a weekend out in Moab. We left in the morning and arrived at Arches. Since we had sat in the car for 4 hours, we decided to do the 3 mile round trip hike to Delicate arch. The 70 degrees was perfectly warm in the sun while hiking and slightly too hot! It is pretty steep and you are climbing slick rock for most of it which would be too hot in the summer. The kids loved adding to the trail markers.
Lily wore her swimsuit the entire day she was so excited for the hotel swimming pool and the kids rolled up their pants they thought it was so hot. It was so worth the hike and it is more magnificent then any pictures can try to portray.
As we walked away, we took this one with the Carissa in the background. I love how tiny she looks.
On the way down, Lily fell asleep on Taylor's back. She got a blister on the way up which proved to be a challenge the rest of the trip to talk her into a band aid, socks, and shoes each time we went out!
Then we found one of those old Pizza Huts with the unique roofs in town to eat. We were all starving so it was a welcome meal.
The next day was full of arches, scrambling onto rocks and playing in the hotel pool.

There was a little complaining on the way but overall, worth it as we sat in the arch for the sunset!
On the way home, we went through Canyon lands National Park and did 2 kid hikes that were more beautiful than we expected.
We hiked what is called 'whale rock' and looks like a big whale in the middle of the desert. We climbed right up on top and over it.
